PLAYWRITING AUSTRALIA SEEKING ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Playwriting Australia is seeking an ambitious Artistic Director/CEO to lead the company into the future. The Artistic Director/CEO will have a passion for new writing; a strong knowledge of the Australian theatre sector; a commitment to developing a playwriting community that is reflective of Australian society; and insightful advocacy and leadership skills.
This is a pivotal role within the national theatre sector, acting as an advocate for playwrights and their work and working with the sector to develop an astute approach to industry development. The Artistic Director / CEO has responsibility across the programming, operational and strategic direction of the organisation and maintains relationships with a range of stakeholders and partners including theatre companies, funding bodies, donors, related agencies and international partners.
In collaboration with an accomplished Board of Directors and a small, focussed team, the Artistic Director/CEO will be instrumental in delivering Playwriting Australia’s current goals and building a strategic vision for the future.
The role is full time, with the potential for a practicing artist to negotiate creative leave from the company, in order to maintain their practice.
The Board of Playwriting Australia may consider applications from individuals who may wish to be considered for the Artistic Director role, uncoupled from the CEO role.
Applications are now closed.
