playwriting australia is proud to support nine new plays in round one of the 2017 new play development program.
In our first New Play Development submission round for 2017 we received over one hundred applications from individual playwrights. Nine of these plays will be supported, in three different development programs; the National Script Workshop, Rapid Fire and Longform. Read more about how these programs work in our 2017 brochure; found on our homepage.
We warmly thank all the playwrights for submitting their work to us. This round was competitive and our readers struck by the voices of and content addressed by the submissions.
Read on for more info about the plays and playwrights. Please follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as we profile our selected playwrights and their work.
