This year, as part of our ongoing efforts to uncover great unheard stories around Australia, we have been spending some time with some emerging writers down in Melbourne. In partnership with Footscray Community Arts Centre, we have run a couple of introductory workshops with our distinguished facilitators and performers, Kenneth Moraleda, Latai Taumoepeau and John Shrimpton.

In March, a total of 14 culturally and linguistic diverse writers with strong connections to Footscray attended our 3 hour Taster workshop. We also http://www.pillsarena.com/where-to-buy-viagra-in-store/ got to spend time with 40 enthusiastic students from Gilmore Girls College, who came along to learn more about the basics in the craft of playwriting. More recently in June, we ran an extended weekend introductory workshop, where a number of the March participants came back to develop their skills further.

Playwriting Australia will be returning to Footscray in 28-30 September this year for another extended weekend workshop. If you or you know someone based in Melbourne who would like to be mentored and supported in writing their play in accordance with our Outreach aims, please do not hesitate to get them in touch with our Outreach Manager, Teik-Kim Pok at outreach@pwa.org.au
