Michael is really sick and he's losing his will to live. He's onto his 19th operation. Ron is a long-time train-driver who loves his quiet time. He's onto his 19th suicide on the tracks. Michael and Ron never meet, but as Michael's despair and rage coalesces, their lives momentarily intersect.
