Inviting expressions of interest from playwrights and theatre artists to attend the National Play Festival 2016 Industry Forum.
Each year at the National Play Festival, Playwriting Australia invites theatre professionals nationally and internationally to take part in an industry-only forum. This is a unique occasion to be involved in a national conversation about the opportunities and challenges facing the new writing sector, exchange ideas and network with other theatre leaders, including artistic directors, producers, literary managers and industry peers.
Expressions of Interest are now open for playwrights and independent theatre artists keen to be part of the Industry Forum. We are looking for a mix of experienced, mid-career and emerging artists. Those selected will get access to the subsidised rate of $100 to attend all performances at the National Play Festival and the Industry Forum sessions, and the opening night reception, taking place from 27-30 July in Melbourne.
Playwriting Australia is committed to the widest possible access for its programs regardless of financial circumstances. A limited number of bursaries will be awarded to selected artists to cover the full cost of the registration fee. Additional support including travel funding for interstate artists can be sought from state and territory funding bodies or from the Erin Thomas Playwright Fund for artists based in regional and remote areas (applications accepted year round).
