Playwright Exchange
a 3-week research and development exchange for playwrights in New York
In conjunction with New York's famed New Dramatists, this programme awards Australian playwrights a three-week period of research and development in New York city, including theatre visits, introductions to and meetings with key local industry figures and a workshop and public reading of the winning play to an audience of local producers.
Applications are invited from playwrights with a minimum of two professionally produced works. The winning application is selected by New Dramatists, New York from a shortlist prepared by PlayWriting Australia.
By reciprocal arrangement PlayWriting Australia will select and host the winning American writer in Australia, presenting a rehearsed reading of their winning play for local audiences.
The exchange includes airfares, accommodation and living expenses.
