Creative Development Studios
a 3 day supported creative research workshop
Creative Development Studios provide the opportunity to undertake a three-day period of intensive work on a script in a late draft stage.
This is an initiative to provide playwrights with resources (including time, space, actors, directors or dramaturgs), over a period of three days, to address specific issues in a new script. It is intended that the Studio will enable the writer to significantly progress the script towards production or provide substantial professional development. The development is writer-led, putting the playwright and their needs at the heart of the process. The Creative Development Studio may be proposed as a one-off activity or part of a larger development plan incorporating support from other sources.
The Winter Session 2010 Creative Development Studio is being offered in Sydney exclusively for the support of a project written by a Tasmanian playwright. It includes return airfares and accommodation, enabling the writer to join PlayWriting Australia in Sydney. Applications will only be accepted for the Winter Session 2010 from playwrights normally resident in Tasmania.
