Internships

From 3 days to 2 weeks or several months, PlayWriting Australia’s internship opportunities are available in practical script development, arts marketing and administration and research. Suitable for HSC and university students, graduates and emerging artists seeking professional development, looking to extend their skills and networks and get closer to a dream job in the arts.

PlayWriting Australia offers a range of internships:

REHEARSAL ROOM INTERNSHIPS - National Play Festival and the National Script Workshops

Join the best playwrights, directors, dramaturgs and actors from around the country in rehearsal as part of our major annual events, the National Play Festival and National Script Workshops. You’ll be responsible for keeping the rehearsal room running smoothly, assisting the director, dramaturg and cast with day to day set-up and keeping track of the scripts. You’ll also be in the room observing the script development processes that go on behind closed doors.

The Rehearsal Room Internships are suitable for tertiary level drama students, graduates (or applicants with equivalent practical experience) and emerging writers, directors and dramaturgs interested in new Australian playwriting.
